I Founded The "a Million Monarchs" Experience WHERE my team & I PROVIDE BOUDOIR AND BEAUTY SESSIONS FOR WOMEN.
This picture (before/after) of makeup was before my own Monarch Transformation Boudoir/Beauty photoshoot! I was super depressed from being at my highest weight (nearly 200 pounds). I literally felt like a chipmunk & I was scared I was going to look like a busted can of biscuits. I was so scared I almost cancelled on MY OWN TEAM!! But the natural high i got from pushing through and SEEING/BELIEVING I was beautiful was unlike anything else in this world. A gift my team & I wish to give to YOU too.
It was such an empowering experience . I am a wife, a mother, a photographer, an artist, and I founded this experience to help women of all backgrounds to get their sexy back and feel beautiful again.
Boudoir photography is so much more than rolling around in your skivvies for some empowering photographs. It's about self-acceptance, body positivity, and art. No matter your weight or age (18+). It's something that most people won't understand until they are BRAVE enough to take the leap and experience it.
It's about getting glammed up and having fun.
This experience has been compared to feeling free on a mountain top.
It's about the transformation that takes place between the time you walk into my studios and walk back out that door.

WHY I Founded A Million Monarchs & WHY we photograph boudoir
WHY I Founded The Monarch Transformation Boudoir Experience & WHY my team & I love photographing you!
Sometimes our team finds it hard to put into words WHY we shoot boudoir photography. I’m going to siphon this story off into 2 parts. Part 1 is my origin story on WHY I (Marina LaBaff) founded this company. And part 2 is the why of my supportive team that helps the Monarch Transformation come alive in the way that it does. Without the team, there would be no monarchs!
Why I fell In-Love With Boudoir Photography & Founded The Company:
I never ever intended to EVER own a boudoir photography studio or even photograph boudoir for that matter. It caught me entirely off guard.
I had gone to college for pre-medical studies and graduated with a 3.8 out of 4.0 GPA. My plans were to help the world by being a medical doctor. But life had a way different path for me.
Instead I became a mom and a family/event photographer in my small town. I photographed: weddings, newborns, maternity, children, and families.
Babies were the hardest but they were my most favorite to snuggle and photograph.
The first time I was asked to photograph boudoir was by a former baby and maternity client…
I had declined and sent her to someone else!
I didn’t want anything to do with the image that “boudoir” portrayed attached to the name of my sweet baby and family studio!
It looked to racy for my taste. But I had my very own Transformational moment when it came to boudoir…
Mrs. K had asked me too many times even while I declined.
Finally after what felt like the 100th time I just told Mr. K YES 🙌 Hoping that she would leave me alone.
But i asked her not to advertise my services as I had no intention of pursuing boudoir photography.
Flashforward to her photoshoot day… She was beautiful in my eyes but in her eyes she was NERVOUS and not so pretty
We went through the entire glam makeover and photoshoot process that day
When she arrived at the studio she was shrugged in a little ball, comparable to a caterpillar in its chrysalis shell
But by the time she left the studio her shoulders were back
And even the way she walked had changed!
She found a sense of newfound confidence
And that transformation was mind blowing to see!
From that day forward I (and my team) never looked at boudoir
As something sexual ever again.
We saw its secret side effects of how it made a woman see herself.
So we started to call the transformations inside of our studio
“Monarch Transformations”
And what was once a very conservative photography studio turned
Into a multi location team with beautiful studios: To help our Monarch clients through a very important life transformation:
The way they see and feel about themselves.
